There is a difference between being a psychic and being a medium. All mediums are psychics but not all psychics are mediums. It is important to know the difference between a psychic and a medium and what they do.
Some people that are mediums will want to be called either a psychic, a medium, intuitive medium, spiritual medium or something that is essentially the same. They are people that are able to communicate with the spiritual world and to speak to spirits that have passed on. Of course, there is a difference between a medium and a psychic.
Sometimes people that go for a reading get confused between a psychic and a medium. A psychic is able to use their energies in order to tell someone answers and to speak about the past, present and a future. They use their own internal gifts of intuition and sometimes even some tools to get information about someone.
A medium is able to do those things but they are also able to use their energies to tune into the spiritual world. They can pick up the spiritual energies and they can get information that can help someone that is going through grief or someone that needs closure by talking to the spirits.
Just like there is a difference between a nurse and a doctor, there is a difference between a psychic and a medium. You can also look at it as a doctor that specializes in bones or one that specializes in the heart. These are both doctors, but they are different.
Being a medium means that you are able to connect to the spiritual world and to get messages. You can talk to someone that has died and you can give messages to the living. Sometimes a medium is even able to talk to angels or spiritual guides when they do their mediumship.
A mental medium is someone that is able to use telepathy in order to connect with the spirits in the spiritual world. This means that they are able to get messages through their mind.
Other mediums are physical mediums, and they are able to use their bodies to get in touch with the spirit world such as channeling or automatic writing.
People that use their gifts in order to reach into the spiritual worlds often have the clair gifts. The clair gifts include:

- Clairaudience: Clear hearing.
- Claircognizance: Clear feeling.
There are other clair gifts but these are the ones that are most known and used by psychics and other people.
Remember, a medium is able to use their energies to reach into the spiritual world and they are able to connect the physical world with the spiritual word.
